What’s Really Inside Our Goat Milk Soap Bars (And Why Your Skin Will Thank You)

Goat Milk | 0 comments

When we say clean skincare, we mean it. Every Friendly Goods soap bar is made from a short, transparent list of ingredients you can actually recognize—and your skin can actually use.

If you’ve ever wondered what’s really inside our goat milk soap bars, here’s the full breakdown—and why each ingredient earned its place.

Fresh Goat Milk

Our star ingredient—and the reason so many of our customers see a difference.

Goat milk is rich in fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and naturally occurring lactic acid, which helps gently exfoliate and nourish sensitive skin.

It’s the base of every bar we make, and we source it with care.

Saponified Lard, Canola Oil, and Coconut Oil

These are the oils that turn into soap (through a natural process called saponification). Each one has a purpose:

  • Lard creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather—used for centuries in traditional soapmaking.
  • Canola Oil is gentle and conditioning, adding moisturizing benefits.
  • Coconut Oil helps cleanse and produce big, satisfying suds.

We keep it simple—no unnecessary fillers or synthetic foaming agents.

Water

Nothing fancy here—just essential to the soapmaking process. Once cured, most of it evaporates, leaving behind a firm, mild bar.

Botanical Fragrance Oils

We use custom-blended fragrance oils that are phthalate-free and thoughtfully formulated to be gentle on skin. You’ll find notes like lavender, citrus, eucalyptus, or sandalwood—never overpowering, always friendly.

Rose Clay (in some bars)

Rose clay gives a soft pink hue and helps draw out impurities without drying the skin.

It’s especially great for sensitive or mature skin types and adds a touch of natural luxury to your routine.

That’s it.

No parabens. No dyes. No detergents. No weird stuff.

Just time-tested ingredients, clean formulations, and small-batch care—made by people who actually use it, too.

The Benefits of Fragrance-Free Skincare

Fragrance in skincare might smell nice, but for sensitive skin, it’s often the hidden culprit behind irritation, redness, and dryness. Whether it's synthetic or natural, added fragrance can disrupt your skin’s delicate balance. That’s why fragrance-free skincare is...

What is Real Soap? (And Why It Matters for Your Skin)

Real soap is made through a process called saponification, where natural fats or oils are
combined with an alkali (like lye) to create a gentle, effective cleanser. The FDA has strict rules
about what can and can’t be labeled as soap, and to qualify, a product must:
1. Be made primarily of alkali salts of fatty acids—which is just a fancy way of saying oils or
fats mixed with lye.
2. Get all of its cleansing power from these alkali salts—meaning no synthetic detergents.
3. Be marketed strictly as soap—if it claims to moisturize, deodorize, or kill germs, it’s
considered a cosmetic or even a drug.
In short, true soap is simple, straightforward, and made the way it has been for centuries. But if
your “soap” contains synthetic detergents, it’s something else entirely.

What is a Beauty Bar?
