Why Shampoo & Conditioner Bars Are Perfect for Travel — and Why Friendly Goods Has You Covered

Blog | 0 comments

If you’ve ever opened your suitcase to find a shampoo bottle exploded all over your clothes… you already know: liquid toiletries are not made for travel. That’s where shampoo and conditioner bars come in — and they’re a total game-changer for travelers who want to pack light, stay clean, and skip the mess.

Why Shampoo & Conditioner Bars Are Ideal for Travel

  • No Spills, No Leaks: Solid bars won’t burst in your bag or make a mess in your toiletry bag.
  • TSA-Approved: Since they’re solid, they’re not subject to liquid limits — breeze through airport security with ease.
  • Compact & Lightweight: Bars take up way less space than bottles, and you don’t need to worry about bulky packaging.
  • Long-Lasting: A little goes a long way — one bar can last as long as multiple bottles of shampoo.
  • Eco-Friendly: No plastic bottles means less waste — great for you, great for the planet.

The Benefits of Fragrance-Free Skincare

Fragrance in skincare might smell nice, but for sensitive skin, it’s often the hidden culprit behind irritation, redness, and dryness. Whether it's synthetic or natural, added fragrance can disrupt your skin’s delicate balance. That’s why fragrance-free skincare is...

What is Real Soap? (And Why It Matters for Your Skin)

Real soap is made through a process called saponification, where natural fats or oils are
combined with an alkali (like lye) to create a gentle, effective cleanser. The FDA has strict rules
about what can and can’t be labeled as soap, and to qualify, a product must:
1. Be made primarily of alkali salts of fatty acids—which is just a fancy way of saying oils or
fats mixed with lye.
2. Get all of its cleansing power from these alkali salts—meaning no synthetic detergents.
3. Be marketed strictly as soap—if it claims to moisturize, deodorize, or kill germs, it’s
considered a cosmetic or even a drug.
In short, true soap is simple, straightforward, and made the way it has been for centuries. But if
your “soap” contains synthetic detergents, it’s something else entirely.
